šØš Exciting Announcement!
Weāre thrilled to announce another edition of the Mist-Lining workshop, supported by Getty under its Conserving Canvas Initiative! This time, Kate Seymour and Joanna Strombek from Art Conservation Education will be joined by Humberto Farias and Edson Mota for the Brazilian Edition at Ā Conservação e Restauração de Bens Culturais (CECOR) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
š§š· The Brazilian edition will kick off in June 2025 with 6 online sessions, followed by a two-week in-person, hands-on workshop in July 2025.
Participants will dive deep into the Mist-Lining processāan innovative approach that considers the full treatment of damaged canvas paintings, from decision-making to exhibition readiness, avoiding the use of moisture and heat to adhere the lining canvas. This packed programme brings together 10 participants from Brazilās leading cultural heritage institutions, including CECOR, as well as representatives from teaching institutions in Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Uruguay. Successful candidates will be selected by mid-October 2024 and will receive a bursary covering travel, accommodation, and per diem.
Expect exciting discussions, fresh perspectives, and a transformative approach to the treatment of canvas painting. Stay tuned and follow our journey online! āØ
