The Indian Conservation Fellowship Program (ICFP) has been a vital platform for knowledge exchange and skill-building in cultural heritage conservation. Initiated through a collaboration between The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and SRAL Maastricht—with support from the Mellon Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India—the program has empowered 48 Indian conservators with specialized training, strengthening local expertise and conservation leadership.
While the fellowship has concluded, our engagement with the ICFP alumni continues. The core team—Vinod Daniel, Lisa Pilosi, Savita Monie, and Kate Seymour—remains actively connected, supporting alumni as they lead efforts to preserve and sustain India’s diverse cultural heritage.
This week, we will be in Delhi at IGNCA and Mumbai at CSMVS, reconnecting with fellows and learning more about their ongoing projects. We look forward to hearing their insights and seeing the impact of their work firsthand.
We celebrate the lasting impact of this initiative and the dedication of the conservators shaping the future of heritage preservation in India. #ICFP #CulturalHeritage #Conservation #India
